DESCRIPTION
Where To Use:
MAPEI’s quartz sand range is made from highly pure, washed, kiln-dried, selected quartz. It is available in various mixes in a granulometric curve and is used with epoxy or polyurethane resin to create protective coatings, for grouting and repair work, etc. Some application examples · To make resin mortar for screeds or repairing floors. · To make self-levelling resin mortar and skimming mortar for cementitious surfaces. · Broadcasting the surface of resin in multi-layered coating systems or to create keying layers for resin or cementitious products. · To create non-slip surface finishes.
How To Use:
Mix the quartz sand with epoxy or polyurethane resin to create self-levelling resin coatings, broadcast systems or mortar screeds. It may also be used to make resin mortar for grouting, to repair joints or holes in floors, patches, coves, etc. Lastly, quartz sand may be used to broadcast the surface of fresh resin to increase its overall thickness and to form a rough finish on the surface when a non-slip finish is required, or if you need to form a keying surface for other layers of resin or cementitious products. To help choose the correct mix of sand and for information on how to apply the sand and its relative consumption rates, please refer to the specific Technical Data Sheet for the resin or cementitious product to be applied.
