Galvafroid zinc-rich cold galvanising coating

Galvafroid is a zinc-rich, cold galvanising coating that protects all ferrous metals against corrosion. With a very high zinc content (typically 92 to 95 percent zinc in the dried film), it delivers electrochemical, sacrificial protection to iron and steel and can be used as a rust-inhibiting primer or as a self-finish. Brush, roller or spray applied, it dries to a mid-grey matt finish.

Because the zinc corrodes in preference to the metal beneath, Galvafroid keeps protecting even at scratches, cut edges and points of abrasion, sealing minor breaks and stopping rust creep.

How to apply Galvafroid

All metal must be clean and free from grease, paint, mill scale and rust. Grit or shot blasting to white metal gives the best result, though thorough power wire brushing followed by clean water can be sufficient. Apply by brush, roller or dipping. Where a decorative topcoat is wanted, allow the coating to weather before overcoating with a compatible paint. Always work to the current product data sheet.
